and because he has them taking the title. Along with Doogan, only Lynch and Stumpf have Poly as their champs. Six people have Pacific winning this whole tournament (Alexi, Bry, Caleb, Cheryl, Lohse, and Primm).

QUARTERFINALS (March 14th – Seeley, in particular), but they have such an incredible lack of toughness, it’s scary. But, honestly, when you have the two best pure scorers in the league on one team, you probably don’t want to face that team in a win-or-go-home situation.

Alex, Bry, Dave, and Doogan took Fullerton in this huge upset pick. Alex and Dave actually have the Titans going to the finals. Nine people (Gersh, GrossSr, J, LohseJr, Mac, PapaCim, Rikey, RDoc, and Waters) took The Beach to return to the Dance.

#4 UC-Irvine vs #5 Hawaii
This was Hawaii’s first year in the Big West and, for a while, it looked like they might step right into a conference title. But, in the end, the roadtrips were just too tough for this team with all the really good teams in the league this year. One of those really good teams was the Anteaters of UC-Irvine, who pulled off one of the biggest upsets this year when they went into Pauley Pavilion and handled UCLA. The tempo-free numbers love Irvine, who can score with anyone, but also plays really tough D.

Nine people (Alex, Alexi, Bry, Dave, GrossJr, Lazarow, Scoot, Teddy, and Waters) have UCI reaching the finals, with Alex, Dave, GrossJr, Lazarow, and Scoot taking them to win this tournament.

CTC UPDATE

Championship Picks

#1 Long Beach St. (9)

#2 Pacific (6)

#3 Cal Poly (3)

#4 UC-Irvine (5)

#5 Hawaii (-)

#6 UC-Davis (1)

** – NOTE – for the first time in CTC history, ALL EIGHT TEAMS were picked to reach the finals. In fact, each team has at least TWO people taking them in the finals. MADNESS!

Biggest Upsets

QF – #8 CS-Fullerton (Alex, Bry, Dave & Doogan)

SF – #8 CS-Fullerton (Alex & Dave)

Champ – #6 UC-Davis (Teddy)

Previous CTC Champions

2008 – Doogan

2009 – Bry (perfect)

2010 – Stri

2011 – J

2012 – Bry & Mac (perfect)

2013 Scores

1).

(Conference season recap upcoming…) CHAMPIONSHIP (March 16th – 30 points) #2 Pacific vs #4 UC-Irvine Bob Thomason is one of the biggest legends of West Coast basketball. He has been the Pacific head coach for 25 years – and this … Continue reading →

[9,483

post-4053","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-college-hoops","category-conference-tourney-challenge
["GET
