ESPN’s John Clayton\u00a0has an interesting article <\/a>today, speculating on where Donovan McNabb may end up next year if the Eagles decide to trade him.\u00a0 Clayton’s list of likely destinations is in this order:<\/p>\n

  1. Ravens<\/li>\n
  2. Vikings<\/li>\n
  3. Bears<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Bears speculation has been around for a long time.\u00a0 McNabb is a Chicago native and the Bears were seemingly only a decent quarterback away from a Super Bowl title last season.\u00a0 But Clayton sees the Bears as a team that prefer to build through the draft.<\/p>\n

    \"mcnabbThe Vikings are also a very logical destination.\u00a0 They have a great defense, an excellent offensive line, and an emerging superstar at running back in Adrian Peterson, but no quarterback.\u00a0 That’s right, Tarvaris Jackson, Kelly Holcomb, and Brooks Bollinger = 0 quarterbacks.\u00a0 Also, Vikings head coach Brad Childress was McNabb’s offensive coordinator for years in Philly.\u00a0 McNabb wouldn’t have any decent receivers to work with, but, um, let’s just say that wouldn’t be an unfamiliar problem.<\/p>\n

    The Bears and Vikings both make a lot of sense, but Clayton concludes that the most likely destination is the Ravens.\u00a0 Steve McNair is looking like a has-been and Kyle Boller is still looking very much like a never-was.\u00a0 The Ravens also have similar strengths to the Vikings with a strong defense and a\u00a0good, young running back.\u00a0 The advantage they would have over the Bears in a McNabb sweepstakes, according to Clayton, is the conference in which they play.\u00a0 If the Ravens and Vikings both make similar offers for McNabb, say a 2nd and a 3rd round pick, the Eagles would much prefer to send McNabb to the AFC and not have to compete against a\u00a0much-improved Minnesota team for a playoff spot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
