After an uneventful pigtail game, the WCC adds three more teams to the mix for Round Two.
#5 San Francisco vs. #8 Portland
Portland survived last night’s pigtail game with Santa Clara and now gets a red-hot Dons team who upset Gonzaga last week and nearly pulled off the double, narrowly falling to St. Mary’s on Saturday. The winner of this game will get #4 LMU in the quarters. Everyone has USF in this game except RSmith, who has already lost it with Santa Clara, but some have more at stake than others. Dave, Gross, J, Lohse, and Teddy all have USF beating LMU. Dave even has them going one further and reaching the finals.
#6 San Diego vs. #7 Pepperdine
San Diego had a decent year in the WCC. Pepperdine…not so much. But, the Waves do enter the tournament riding a 2-game winning streak that earned them a bye out of the pigtail game last night. 4 people (Dave, Lynch, Mac, and Waters) have the minor upset of Pepperdine tonight; none of them have the Waves beating BYU tomorrow. RSmith has a lot on the line with the Terreros, as he has USD beating BYU in the quarters.
