CTC Day Seven Recap: The AmEast – Where Exciting, Bad Basketball Happens

 America East basketball…it’s fannnn-tastic.

#1 Stony Brook 57 – #4 Albany 55
Stony Brook played rather poorly, but came back to win on a pretty amazing last-second tip in (if you haven’t seen this highlight, it’s worth finding).  They now get to wait a week before hosting the championship on Saturday morning.  Doogan and Primm missed a nice upset pick here.  RSmith had already lost it; the other 17 got it right, with many having SB winning this title.  Primm lost his champ.

#2 Vermont 77 – #6 Hartford 73 (2 OTs)
It wasn’t pretty, but UVM survives.  Hartford could have (and should have) won this game any number of times in regulation or either of the two overtimes.  But, the Catamounts kept escaping and finally finished off the host Hawks in the second OT.  KA and Primm miss a really nice upset pick here.  10 people keep their champ alive (Alexi, Doogan, J, Lohse, Mac, RSmith, Scoot, Stri, Teddy, Waters).

AM EAST PENTHOUSE:  Gersh, RDoc, Scoot, Waters (38)
AM EAST CELLAR:  Bry, RSmith (16)
