CTC Day Ten Preview: MEAC Quarterfinals…Well, Half of Them At Least

After the MEAC squeezed five games into a single day in Winston-Salem yesterday, they figured they would only go with two quarterfinals today, and just do the other two tomorrow.

#1 Savannah St. vs. #8 Hampton
One of the two new members of the MEAC came right in and won the league’s regular season.  Now, Sav State will try and earn the auto-bid and the 16-seed that goes with it.  Hampton, who ended Morgan St.’s season early yesterday will try and give SSU a warm MEAC welcome today.  Dave has the Hampton upset.  Alexi and Teddy have both already lost this game with Morgan.  The other 17 have Savannah St. here.  But, only 6 people have this top-seed winning the tournament, so they will hope they survive here (Bry, Doogan, KA, Rikey, RSmith, Scoot).

#2 Norfolk St. vs. #10 Howard
For about three-quarters of the season, it looked like Norfolk St. might be on another level than everyone else in the MEAC, but they fell hard back to earth in the month of February and couldn’t even hold on to the regular season title.  Now, they have to regroup and take a run at the conference title.  Howard, who upset #7 N.C. A&T yesterday, 51-50, gets a shot at a much bigger upset here.  19 people have Norfolk here; Gersh has the huge upset pick of Howard.  Dave, Gross, J, Lynch, Primm, Stri, and Teddy all have their championship pick of Norfolk on the line here.
