CTC Day Nine Standings: Gross Has a Monster Day, Moves Into Second Place; Scoring Correction Put Lohse in First Coming into the Day and He Remains There at the End of the Day

(NOTE: Due to a glitch in the scoring system, upset points were not being fully counted, so there were some minor changes to the scores.  J actually won Day 8, and Lohse ended Day 8 in the lead.)

Day Nine was a preview of what is to come in spades in the next couple of days – some big-time scoring opportunities, in which people can make serious runs up (or down) the leaderboard.  Gross had another terrific day and has moved all the way up to 2nd place in the overall standings.  But, even with the great day, he is only able to gain 23 points on the leader, as the Lohse Train just keeps rolling along, finishing in second place on the day.  Lynch and Doogan made the biggest moves upwards today.  Lynch jumped 4 spots to 12th, while Doogan climbed 3 spots to 9th.  Both have put themselves in position to really be a factor in the second week.  Gross jumped 2 spots to 2nd, and Dave went up 2 spots to 6th.  The biggest fall of the day was for RDoc, who fell 3 spots to 16th.  RSmith (now 8th), Stri (now 11th), and Rikey (now 13th) all fell 2 spots in the standings thanks to Day Nine.  Lohse became the first 2012 CTC’er to hit the 1000-point mark and was joined by 3 others on the day.

Reminder – while it seems like it is getting late, we’re not even really at the midpoint, if you consider the winner last year had well over 2,500 points.  So, there is plenty of time and opportunity to make moves – those opportunities are just going to come (and go) really quickly…
