Let’s say, hypothetically, you can afford to spend $100,000 on a new car, would you:
(a) buy a $100,000 car for $100,000
OR
(b) buy an $80,000 car for $40,000 ?

b) every time. You could then go to a phillies game and use the extra $60,000 to buy everyone in the stadium a hot dog
on dollar dog night.
I see where you’re goin with this. And while I’d choose b, I think the question should be rephrased so that you start with $140,000 and offered an option c (both a & b) because we technically could have landed BOTH Halladay AND Lee. Though it’s nice to dream about a rotation of Halladay, Hamels, and Lee for this year and next, that would mean Plaxicoing ourselves in the foot past 2010 and no smart GM could possibly bring themselves to do that.
