2014 CTC Day Six: Mac Wins By Far the Biggest Day Yet; PapaCim Takes Over the Top Spot in the Overall Standings

Mac goes well over 300 points for the day and is one of 5 people over 600 points for the contest as the biggest day of Week One pays off big time for some.  PapaCim, who nearly cracked the 300-point total on the day takes the overall lead with nearly 640 points.  Colton and Gersh – who have been in contention all week – remain right behind in 2nd and 3rd.  Mac is now 4th after his big day and Stri jumps back into the top 5.  Bry – who had the overall lead after each of the past two days – slips to 6th.

Stumpf made the biggest jump up the standings, as went from last place to 13th and is right back in the hunt.  Primm also had a very productive day, as he entered the top 10 after starting the day outside in 21st.  Chris (17th to 7th), Doogan (18th to 9th), and Stritts (20th to 11th) also took advantage big days to make moves up the leaderboard.

Since a leaderboard is zero-sum, if some move up, others have to move down.  GrossSr and Lynch took the biggest dives, as they each dropped 10 spots from their Day Five positions.  WaTers (5th to 12th), J (6th to 14th), and Scoot (8th to 15th) each dropped well out of the Top Ten positioning that they held when the day started.  Bry had a rough day and lost his overall lead.

We did hand out our first CTC conference crown on Day Six, and it went to Doogan for winning the Ohio Valley Conference.  Three more rings will be handed out on Day Seven.

Day Seven doesn’t have as many games on tap, but there are a whole lot of points to be handed out, as the First Week conferences start to wrap up.  Here is what we have in story for us on Sunday:

  • Missouri Valley championship
  • Atlantic Sun championship
  • Big South championship
  • MAAC semifinals
  • SoCon semifinals
  • Colonial semifinals
  • America East semifinals
  • Summit League quarterfinals

With all these tournaments in their later stages, it usually makes for boom or bust days, so we could see big spreads across the field and, therefore, some major movement around the leaderboard.
