I, for one, am probably a 12 on a 1-10 scale of excitement.
Think about the possible FIRST-ROUND matchups! As of the standings now, this would be the first round:
Dallas vs. LA Lakers (uh…wow)
Utah vs San Antonio (good basketball, no matter how “boring”)
Denver vs New Orleans (probably my 2 favorite teams to watch)
Houston/Golden State (tied for #8) vs Phoenix (if it’s Golden State, it’ll be a blatant track meet. if it’s Houston, we can watch Shaq vs. Yao)
That is the goddam first round. And, one of those 9 teams won’t even make it. And, this is not to mention a young, exciting Portland team that is currently 10th. WOW! Just that first round is amazing, let alone thinking about the later rounds with potential heavyweight matches like Phoenix (with Shaq) against the Lakers (with Gasol) or Phoenix-Dallas. Or the incredibly-fun-to-watch Hornets against the incredibly-not-fun-to-watch defending champion Spurs! Just, wow! We can’t be let-down by the NBA this year, can we?
Bry, couldnt agree with you more. Every series, hell even every POSSIBLE matchup, looks to be fun basketball to watch. Plus, if Kidd goes to Dallas you add in even more drama and intrigue. It should be awesome hoops. (and lots of late nites with West coast playoff basketball…)

Jason Kidd said today that the Nets “better not” try to trade him to a lottery team and Kidd’s agent said that if the Nets traded kid to a lottery team he would stear other clients away from NJ. If I were the Nets I’d ship him off to Memphis out of spite. Or hell, ship him to the Knicks if you could find anyone you’d want back.
I imagine it will be exciting but I’ll be paying attention to see who finishes first in the Atlantic Division in the easter confrence. Outside of the Islanders… the other 4 teams have a shot.
