Cimorelli’s Question of the Day

I heard a quote somewhere, I think it was Voltaire, saying: “Judge a man by the questions he asks, not by those he answers.”  If this is true, then I ought to be judged well because I’m an idiot, and I have a TON of questions.  This is the impetus to a new segment on BroadStreetBelievers.com, called Cimorelli’s Question of the Day.  Periodically, I will pose a question on the blog that is meant to be somewhat thought-provoking.  Hopefully, the questions will be ones that can spark debate, but since I don’t have any friends and our writing isn’t good enough to garner followers, I’ll give all the questions a certain element of rhetoric as well, so that they can stand on their own.  So, without further ado (there’s already too much ado about this little nothing), here is the first edition of Cimorelli’s Question of the Day:

If the Phillies sign Mike Lowell to play third base, will the infield of Howard, Utley, Rollins and Lowell be the best infield of all-time?

Well, this is a question that probably requires some research. ‘All-time’ encompasses A LOT of infields, obviously. So I did a google search and came up with two infields that were not too bad: The Reds in the 70’s had Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, and Dave Concepcion. And the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 50’s had Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, and Billy Cox. The Yankees infield a couple years ago when Giambi could still play first of him, A-Rod, Jeter, and Cano was pretty great, too. And when you consider that Lowell and Rollins are both coming off career-years, our view of them might be a little skewed right now. I’d have to take that Big Red Machine infield as the best ever.

I would have to say that you are an idiot for even bringing up such a question. Anyone with a third grade education, hello people from Indiana, knows that the ’85 Cards with Jack Clark, Tom Herr, The Wizard and Terry Pendelton had the best infield ever. Side note, the 2007 Hoosiers will win the National Championship, side side note, I love Reggie Miller and hate Tom Brady.

Only if the Phillies have more dollar Hotdog night at Citizen Bank Park.
